Refitting all the front suspension, some pics of the parts and process.
The parts used are a hybrid of 964 and 993 components which if used together can give some useful benefits.

Somehow I managed to misplace a single front bearing retainer bolt during the strip and re-plate process. I hunted through every single box of parts to find it but no luck so bit the bullet and bought a new one. Sadly its silver and all the others have been re-plated black! Minimum charge at the platers is £35 and takes several weeks which would make for a very expensive and time consuming bolt so rather than hold things up further I’ve decided to close my eyes and fit it. It’s driving my OCD crazy even though it’s hidden by the hub, the brake disc, the brake disc backing plate and the wheel – I’ll know its there!
Brake disc, calliper and wheel check.

Test fit of 993 discs and callipers
Same thickness as 964 RS but without the additional radial spacing of the RS callipers

New F & R discs
Fresh genuine cups
Long wheel studs
Test fit of wheel to check for clearance and alignment
New rack boots and refurbed air diverters.
For dedicated track cars there is no argument that the 993 RS/GT2 uprights are the ones to go for and offer good weight saving and improvements to bump steer however, for a more road based car with sensible ride heights the standard 993 uprights offer some good advantages on a 964.
For a start they are quite a bit lighter than the 964 parts and they also allow the fitment of the larger 993 callipers without the need for spacers / adapters which keeps weight and additional hardware to a minimum.
