White 964 C2 alignment

Alignment and corner balance of a 964 C2.

Having recently purchased this 964 C2 the owner didnt feel super confident about how the car behaved on the road. He had experience of several aircooled and watercooled 911’s so he knew how they should feel and behave but his new purchase wasn’t inspiring him with much confidence. Shocks, springs and bushes all look to be in good order, dry and not too tired.

Having discussed short and long term plans for the car it was decided that it would be best if we just benchmark where its at alignment wise and if its spot on then start considering some suspension hardware, if its way off make some adjustments back to factory specs.

Turns out it was quite a long way out of adjustment for toe and camber but ride heights and corner weights were actually pretty good. After a few rounds of adjustments and re-checking we took it out for a test drive. The test route was a good mix of A roads, dual carriageway and nice wide roundabouts so gave the car a good shakedown. It felt much more composed and predictable in all situations compared to before the adjustments were made – result!

Ended up at just outside RS settings which I think is a good compromise for a car that spends most of its time on the road, the customers drive home confirmed he was happy with the adjustments and is enjoying getting to know where the new limits of grip are.
